Crowthorne & Crown Wood Cricket Club

Many thanks for the players, families and friends that turned out for last years tournament, despite the near hurricane weather that destroyed the marquees there was some great cricket played and for the second year in a row Nick’s Crows team won the final, can they make it a hatrick of wins this year?
Looking to stop the Crow’s winning ways are Crown Wood, Mortimer West End, Thames Valley Ramblers and the Broadmoor Ducks who were surprisingly quiet last year! Adam has assembled some familiar faces for Crowthorne Old Boys again who will be playing their annual game.
This year we would like to welcome our club sponsor Installation Technology whothrough their generous sponsorship has allowed the Crows to massively improve our training facilities by the acquisition of a bowling machine and crazy catch which even the England Cricket Team use this in their fielding practice! I’m sure you will notice throughout the day the improvement in our catching!!!
Thanks to the generous donations from those who attended last year we raised £200 for the Royal Berkshire Hospital Cancer Trust, as previous years the teams will pay a match fee of £80 per team so the food including barbeque will be free to your family and friends, so please bring them down for the day. We would appreciate donations for the beer with any profit going to the Royal Berks.
For the children there will be a bouncy castle as well as other outdoor games throughout the day including the craazzzzy catch!
The format of the tournament will be the same as last year with two divisions of four teams playing each other, with the winners and runners up of each division playing in a semi final with the two winners playing in the final, for the trophy. As previous years we will be using the two pitches on Derby Field, the teams are to arrive for a 10.30 briefing with the first games starting at 11am.
