18 Jul 2010

Richard Barron made Crowthorne history as he hammered a splendid 179 to set a new batting record, surpassing the 167 made by Gary Attree some 10 years ago.
Crows made 264-6 off 40 Overs with Monty Miller unbeaten on 29.
Miller then mage immediate impace removing Yateley's opener first ball of their innings.
Nick McDonagh chipped in with 3 wickets and Dan with 2.  There were also wickets for Kahuna and Pete Clarke.
Yateley were i nall sorts of problems chasing the total and with 9 wickets down and almost 100 runs still required, they lookek out of the game, but the last wicket pair made a very close affair of it.
However star of the show Barron, ensured that stand-in skipper James Carson would taste victory in his first taste of captaincy by bowling the last batsman with ony 4 runs required for victory.
Well done Rich. a joy to witness batting like that.
