Crowthorne & Crown Wood Cricket Club

The League season is still to start in earnest after a frustrating washout against South East Reading CC at Great Hollands on Saturday. The heavy overnight rain left the outfield and wicket unplayable much to the disappointment of all concerned. The Crows now turn their attentions to this Saturday’s clash with old sparring partners Mortimer West End, with whom we’ve enjoyed many a close, lively match in recent years.

The Sunday team suffered similar disappointment with the Cancellation of their match with London outfit West One CC. This Sunday sees the start of a new era for the Sunday Team, with a long-awaited return to the immaculate New Ground at Wellington College for a fixture with Falkland CC of Newbury. These games always tend to be high scoring and the excellent batting strip at New Ground will ensure this is probably the case again.

…and Finally… Tomorrow night (Thursday) sees the first Twenty20 fixture of the season with a (very) friendly game against the Staff of Wellington College. This will be played at Derby Field and Starts at 6pm.
