2018 Fundraising Raffle - Recardo McDowell Memorial Day
Dear All,
As you may have seen advertised, on Sunday 1st July, the Club is hosting a memorial Cricket Day for former Crows player Recardo McDowell who sadly and suddenly passed almost 3 years ago.
Rick left a very poorly baby daughter and devastated partner Rachel.
In the time that has passed, the club and it’s members have done a lot of fundraising activities for Little Eva and Rachel and this year we are once more having a cricket match and raffle in conjunction with the McDowell Family. There will be food, bar, bouncy castle, music - as well as a T20 Challenge match. We raised almost £3000 last year with lots more raised with other initiatives.
Eva was born on June 23rd 2015 with debilitating CHARGE syndrome, and was in intensive care for her first 6 weeks at Whittington and Great Ormond Street hospitals before coming home. Loving Dad Rick, a trainee mental health nurse and dedicated charity worker, was a key carer, alongside Rachel, in Eva's specialised at-home medical care. CHARGE syndrome affects hearing, sight, breathing, feeding, heart function, and general development needs. Eva requires specialised care for all of these areas.
In true community spirit we have asked the good folk of the Crowthorne Business and Trader community to donate some fantastic raffle prizes and the response has been terrific. The list below is growing by the hour and hopefully we’ll have some more great stuff by the time of the draw on Sunday 1st .
I will be at the club this evening selling as many tickets as possible. I will also be at the club as well on Sunday for the World Cup event. They are £5 for a book of 5 tickets and winners will be notified on the day as well as on the website the day after the draw..
If you would like to support the club and Eva as well as be in with a chance of winning one of the terrific prizes below, then please find me at the club tonight or over the weekend. I was thrilled at the response from Club Members and Youth Parents last year. Almost everyone at the club dug deep to support both Eva and the Club itself. I'd be delighted to get the same response this year.....
