Crowthorne’s Midweek XI launched their 2025 campaign with a spirited display at Bracknell, falling just short in a high-octane opener that showcased the firepower of the Krüger-O’Loughlin axis.
Batting first, Crowthorne posted a competitive 118-4 from their 16 overs. Jules O’Loughlin (44 off 37) and David Krüger (45 off 38) stitched together a classy 82-run opening stand, peppering the boundary with finesse and intent. Daniel Cartledge added a brisk 9, while Joe Finucane and Michael Brundisht nudged the total past the ton.
Bracknell’s chase was anything but straightforward. Dan Finucane (2-22) struck twice, including the key wicket of Amol Tyagi (44), while skipper Ollie Taylor (1-28) and the ever-reliable fielding unit chipped in. But a late surge from Fahad Anwar (41*) saw Bracknell sneak home with five balls to spare.
Despite the result, the Midweek XI left with heads high — a performance brimming with promise, partnerships, and purpose.
