Crowthorne’s 3rd XI battled hard but couldn’t chase down Wargrave’s 174, falling 26 runs short in a match that ebbed and flowed. Despite a promising start and a late flurry from Avinash Singh, the Crows were bowled out for 148 in 36.2 overs.
Wargrave’s innings was anchored by a patient 47 from opener Sam Beale and a brisk 38 from Advik Gupta. Avinash Singh led the Crows’ bowling with 2-28, supported by tidy spells from Jai Parhar, Adam Mansfield, and Anand Soundar. The fielding was sharp, with a run-out and several tight stops keeping Wargrave in check.
In reply, David Shaw (29) and Avinash Singh (27) looked set to build a platform, but regular wickets stalled momentum. Krunal Patel (18) and Adam Mansfield (14) added resistance, but Wargrave’s bowlers — led by Sam Beale (3-22) and Hardik Dhallam (2-30) — kept the pressure on.
