Match report SHINFIELD SUCCOMB IN ST SEBS SHOWDOWN

Shinfield made a good start, despite losing a wicket in the first over, Mudit Sharma smashed a lovely 69 to set a good platform for a big total. However, Gerhard Kruger was the stuff of nightmares for Shinfield as his left arm bowling took 4 wickets to check the progress of the visitors. A brief flurry from the 10th wicket pair nudged Shinfield to a competitive looking 188.

Skipper Finucane departed early but fellow opener Fitz Morrisey dug in to compile a classy 48 whilst Kruger added 28 and Nick McDonagh, returning to the fold after missing several seasons, with 33 pushed Crows towards another victory. Chris Winch and Ravi Godbole were the finishers as Crows accelerated towards the finish line. Godbole ended up on 35 not out off just 24 balls as Crows won by 5 wickets with 7 overs to spare.

Dan Finucane, the jubilant skipper, could not hide his delight after the game and told this to the assembled media scrum on the steps of St Sebastians: "What can I say? Another fantastic win for the team and another week where we put in a great team performance. Runs and wickets shared around, disciplined fielding and a great attitude. We won't get carried away just yet but if we can continue to apply ourselves in the is manner for the rest of the season, we should have a good year."
