Match report ONES CAPTAIN AND DEPUTY SUNDAY SKIPPER IN SANDHURST DRUBBING, SHOCK HORROR.

Kieran Golding’s showtime Crows were sent into the field on a scorching hot day at St Sebs after losing the toss . It was a youthful side for the crows with 8 of the team being born after the release of Meatloaf’s ‘I’d do anything for love (but I won’t do that)’. Reece Collins made his senior debut aged 14 whilst the side was bolstered by the experienced heads of Nick Outram, SD Clarke and boozy love rats Will and Ant Avrili.

The match started in true village fashion, a hoik into the leg side narrowly evaded the fielders and the non striker ran one short. That was as good as it got for S*ndhurst, with Tom Ryan and Luke Taylor removing both openers in the 2nd and 3rd overs respectively. The fun didn’t stop there, Luke Taylor completed the third hat trick in as many weeks with a beauty to remove the off stump. A great moment, he even managed to raise a smile before returning to his trusty “Blue steel” look. Perhaps put off by the first slip and wicket keeper smelling like a ruddy brewery, having fallen out of captain Golding’s car in Yateley mere hours before the toss, the batsmen came and went with alarming regularity. Wickets apiece for Reece and Jon Ashenden reduced the Camels to 56-8 and after some brief resistance in the form of a 30 run partnership it was the turn of Sean-o to get in on the act, having the batsmen stumped after quick handiwork from Will Avrili behind the wicket. Reece returned to take his second wicket and finish Sandhurst off for 93 all out, a great effort on a decent pitch.

The crows strolled out knowing they’d have to bat for 20 overs before they could get their hands on whatever they’d brought at Tesco's on the way to the game and wasted no time in getting stuck in. Two glorious lofted drives by ant and a superb straight 6 by nick settled any nerves. When Avrili went for 12, Clarke came to the crease to wreak havoc. Nick raced to 50 off 38 balls before retiring, leaving James Scott to record his highest ever score of 9* and hit the winning runs through mid wicket. Well done James and the rest of the team who fully deserved such a comprehensive win.

Due to a random drugs test enforced on the captain, Will Avrili took the press conference after the game, saying nothing except repeating several times “I got a good nut yesterday” and “a bad player would have got nowhere near it”.
