Crowthorne’s 3rd XI continued their winning ways with a composed run chase against Twyford & Ruscombe 2s, chasing down 171 with seven wickets in hand and nearly six overs to spare. Daniel Manning (55*) and Simon Sheppardt (51*) were the architects of the chase, guiding the Crows home with poise and precision.
Earlier, Twyford posted 171-9, with Thomas Leggett anchoring the innings with 41 and Sathesh Polepaka adding a lively 25. But Crowthorne’s bowlers were relentless — Avinash Singh (3-26), Alex Dennet (3-24), and Adam Malone (2-30) shared the spoils, backed by tight fielding and a run-out from Mike Storey.
In reply, David Shaw (33) got the chase rolling with a flurry of boundaries, and despite a brief wobble at 70-3, Manning and Sheppardt took control. Their unbeaten partnership of 103 was a blend of calm accumulation and crisp strokeplay, with 21 boundaries between them.
