Crowthorne’s 3rd XI ran into a well-oiled Maidenhead Royals 2nd XI, who posted a daunting 230-7 from their 40 overs. Despite the defeat, the Crows showed heart and hustle, with Simon Sheppard (31*) anchoring the reply and Ateeq Mirza (33) grinding through 89 balls in a gutsy knock.
The Royals’ innings was built around a brutal 68 from captain Sana Khan, who launched seven fours and four sixes in a 56-ball blitz. Ishtiaq Ullah added 43, and Faraz Ahmed chipped in with 28. Crowthorne’s bowlers shared the spoils — Jai Parhar (2-40), Mike Storey (1-52), and the Finucane duo each bagging a wicket — but couldn’t stem the flow.
In reply, Crowthorne lost wickets steadily but never folded. Krunal Patel (13), Nikunj Mehta (16), and Adam Mansfield (20) added late spark, while extras (45) kept the scoreboard ticking. The chase ended at 138-8, a spirited effort against a strong side.
