Crowthorne’s 3rd XI roared back from opening-day heartbreak with a commanding win over Boyne Hill 4s, powered by a century of class from David Shaw and a ruthless bowling display led by Avinash Singh (4-16) and Jai Parhar (3-14).
After a rocky start at 27-4, Shaw walked in and took charge. His unbeaten 103 from 100 balls was a masterclass in timing and temperament, peppered with 13 boundaries and 2 sixes. Supported by Krunal Patel (14) and Peter Clarke (11* retired), Shaw lifted the Crows to a formidable 188-7 from their 40 overs.
Boyne Hill’s reply never got going. Avinash Singh tore through the top order, removing four batters in a fiery spell. Parhar’s late burst cleaned up the tail, and Adam Malone chipped in with a wicket and a run-out. The visitors were bundled out for 82 in 28.5 overs.
