Match report CROWS SEAL LEAGUE TITLE WITH HARD FOUGHT FARLEY WIN.

Crows' 2nd XI rounded off a fabulous season with a hard-fought win at Farley Hill to deservedly be crowned League Champions in front of a healthy away contingent of fans.

Bowling first, the champions-elect restricted the hosts to 163 on a traditionally high scoring ground. Pranav Desai took 3 wickets whilst skipper Dan Finucane mopped up the tail with 2 victims of his own.

The Crows reply started a little nervously with Ant Avrili and Ollie Taylor both departing for single figure scores. But Skipper Finucane and the evergreen Ravi Godbole steadied the ship with 34 and 59 not out respectively. A small collapse couldn't halt the Crows though and it left Godbole and Andy Baines to sensibly knock off the remaining runs to ensure not only victory in this match but also 1st place in the League.

The jubilant scenes that followed will live long in the memory of all those present as the captain popped the cork in front of his joyous teammates, family and supporters.

Finucane told the waiting hordes of press reporters and assorted media outlets: "This win means a lot to me and my team. We have worked very hard over the season to get to this point and deservedly finished top of the table. Thanks to Farley Hill for their hospitality and giving is a tough game. Over the course of the season, we've played some great cricket with bat and ball and have had some very impressive victories. I'd like to thank all the players who have contributed to this success. We look forward to blowing the froth off a few cold ones later back at St Sebs with the rest of the club"

When pressed on whether he would continue in the role next season and lead his team into the BCL Premier Division, Finucane quipped "Who knows. Cricket's a funny old game and we'll enjoy tonight and worry about next year when the dust has settled on this great achievement" He then made his excuses and left.
