Match report The Coyotes finally got their season up and running after 2 cancellations last week with a cracking win away at Slough.
Conditions weren't much better, with half the match played in steady rain on an uneven pitch, but it didn't stop an impressive performance from Crowthorne with bat and ball.
Gillian ( who led the team with great passion and direction) won the toss and elected to field and it didn't take long for the Coyotes to strike with Helena performing a run out in the 2nd over. This set the tone for the fielding overall with a very good all round performance with no byes or errors in the field and a sharp catch from Jo.
Particular mention to Anita whose bowling was very accurate and on a good length, which the Slough batters struggled to deal with.
The Coyotes had 250 to chase in the pairs format- Nik and Helena got them off to a flyer with a great opening stand - Helena putting 2 decent boundaries away through the wet outfield. Bindiya, Lou, Rish and Anita all batted responsibly and ensured there was no middle order flurry of wickets, which left Gillian and Jo to smack it around and ensure Coyotes had a comprehensive victory.
Really good start to the season and hopefully more performances like this to come when we have a bit of sun on our backs.
A big thanks to Dylan who umpired fairly and accurately, as well as Gabi and Katie who ensured the scoring was all done despite the constant rain. Hamish also ensured that we've got some great photos of the day too.
Lastly, thanks to Slough CC who got the game on and were a pleasure to play against. Looking forward to future games with them.
