Match report AVRILI HATTRICK SILENCES MORTIMER IN ST SEBS THRILLER

Ant 'Mousse T' Avrili took a superb hattrick to help Crows 2's secure Back to Back wins for the first time in god knows how long.

Crows batted first and amassed a reasonable 165 thanks to a few good partnerships all the way down the card.

Mortimer looked to be firmly in control as openers Makinson and big hitting and vocal Mike Tiley looked well set. However once the skipper had removed Tiley with a cunning plan and Partridge cleaned up Makinson for an agonising 49, Mortimer looked a bit shaky.

Enter Mousse T, stage left.

A superb hattrick and ended up with 4 wickets in total to hamper the visitors progress. However skipper Jimmy George batted superbly to push his team to the brink of victory before the evergreen Godbole tempted him and he was snaffled at cow corner by the safe hands of Dan Manning.

The clanging chimes of doom rang out for Mortimer as their tailenders couldn't get them to the target despite it being in reach whilst their captain was at the crease.

Crows hung on to win by 12 runs and headed to the bar to hear about Mousse T's hattrick in full detail.
