Match report HARPSDEN TOO STRONG FOR CROWS IN FRIENDLY ENCOUNTER DESPITE BAINES HEROICS

Crows 2's travelled to picturesque Harpsden to take on a hybrid team made up of 1st Teamers, Overseas Pro's and youthful novices.

Harpsden batted first on a great deck and outfield. Hogan-Keogh - the Australian pro - offered one chance when he was dropped on about 20 but otherwise stroked a very watchable 100 before graciously retiring. The Birkett Brothers came in near the end to strike some powerful blows down the ground to boost the home side's score to a daunting 234 off their 40 overs.

In response Crows lost the dogged Avrili for 8 and then disaster struck when Mike Brundish ran himself out for a blob. Nikunj Mehta and Andrew Baines got themselves in against a varied attack and scored 43 and 74 respectively but the Crows were always behind the run rate.

Thanks to Harpsden for hosting and mixing their team up to give us a good game.
