Match report Div 2 Central League Champions for the second successive year!!!

The match consisted of the two top teams in the division both with a 100% record for the season, the winner would be crowned Champions. Reece won the toss and asked Binfield to bat.

Reece was unusually a little wayward, but Alfie at the other end was quick and aggressive and took the first wicket. Jake came on first change and for the third game in a row bowled a fantastic two overs. Will joined the party and took the next wicket with his best bowling performance of the season. Sennen came on next and got the prized wicket of the Binfield captain with a good catch by Josh and picked up another wicket in the next over. Dylan 1 wicket, Vinay and Matthew all kept the pressure on bowling excellent spells, and Adam finished the bowling with two wickets courtesy of catches from Jake.

In a big match, 6 of the boys produced their best bowling spells of the season to restrict Binfield to 69, a fantastic performance.

Chasing the runs would be tough, knowing from last year Binfield would bowl and field well, the coaches ringing words where 3.5 an over, no need for silly shots.

Luke went cheaply, but Reece and Sennen dug in and knocked the singles to rotate strike. Sennen looking for his 4th consecutive 30*, knocked one into the air and was caught. In came Alfie who was strongly focused of not getting out, a couple of strong fours followed by a six into the pavilion, saw the required runs into single figures. Reece sensing there wasn't many runs left to get knocked one into the air and was caught. Matthew played a couple of defensive shots then two fours left two runs to get. Alfie promptly smashed a four to win the league. Credit goes to Binfield who bowled well, their fielding was outstanding.

7 wins out of 7 league games a fantastic record for the season. More importantly, every player has contributed and developed their skills as the season has progressed, the coach will have some difficult decisions to make for the end of season awards.

No man of the match for the game, this was jointly shared by all eleven, who have a great team spirit.
