Match report Captain fantastic leads way to big win in far away Falkland, ably supported by the clubs own demolition man

JC won the toss and elected to bat on a hard flat looking pitch with lightning quick and small outfield. This was a very fruitful break with tradition.

JC then strode out in partnership with Demolition Dave to open the innings. What followed was a 134 run partnership in 19 overs , only ended by Dave playing a nothing shot to depart for 47 .
Foxy and JC then put on 59 before JC finally fell to a very sharp slip catch for 84.

JC sent instructions out then to up the pace , so we might declare , something unseen for a while in the 3rds. Foxy (40), Mirza (15) and Ven (51 not out) then pushed the score up to 280 at the end of the 41st over. Declaration was made.

Monty and Avi opened the bowling , Monty getting reward finally for his accurate efforts (6-2-27-2) , and Avi getting reward for the good balls he bowled (6-1-35-3). Falkland left 63 for 5 at the end of the opening spells. Some lusty hitting from Z Afridi and A Muraboli pushed Falkland well over 100 and closer to 150 in 11 overs.

JC decided it was time to call for the Demolition man , Dave coming into the attack , removing A Muraboli thanks to one-handed reaction catch no 1 from JC. Soumya then sprinted around behind square to run out Z Afridi with a direct hit. One-handed reaction catch no 2 from JC then took the 8th wicket for Dave, quickly followed by the ninth thanks to Foxy's catch. Demolition Dave finished with 6-2-19-3 . Falkland bowled out for 163 , finishing the match with 10 men, having started with a different 10 men, and having had 11 players at one point of the afternoon.

A great win with good contributions with bat and ball, and a pretty sound fielding performance on a small pitch.
