Match report Bun-Believable

Brundish griddled as Crows suffer second straight defeat.

Macdowell MBE makes return.
Brundish's Sunday boys suffered a second straight defeat to Englefield CC.

After a hectic selection headache on the Saturday evening, the skipper, who was in Kent for the weekend, answered the call and came straight back to the action.

DC took over proceeding before the game and Crows were put in to bat, Nikunj and the Judge started the innings conservatively but efficiently and racked up a tidy 45 partnership before Nikunj skied one and was caught for 29.

DC, who's been struggling for form of late, put on a 42 partnership with Jules before he was trapped in front by M.Stead for a very gutsy 19 on a difficult pitch.

14 overs to go and another collapse crippled to desired target of 200 as Jules was runout by a brilliant peace of fielding with a direct hit run out. And with wickets falling at regular Intervals, the call for the Captain was made.

After 4 dots the skipper hit a big 6 and a 4 straight after, could this be the start of a late charge and another captains knock on the cards?

It was not to be.

A soft dismissal by a true 'sunday ball' Brundish skied a leg stump full toss straight up and was caught.

J Whitehurst wagged slightly with the tail and Crows finished on 148.

10 over were to be bowled before the signature Englefield BBQ tea, things didn't go according to plan as Englefield were 70 without loss at tea.

Crows took back to the field and a change of tactics as Ganesh Pun and Ben Williams were at each end to hunt down the openers. Ganesh made an instant impact and trapped Morris LBW, Ben quickly followed with a wicket of his own and dismissed Lang for 43.

But the damage was already done and the end was nigh, brundish went to unleash his secret weapon.

The One....... The Only ......
Tony
'Mac Attack' Macdowell

As the Member of the British Empire took stage only going for 3 runs in his first 2 overs, however, the damage was already done.

A four to win it gave Englefield a 6 wicket victory and a hefty 6.4 overs to spare, Brundish spoke to the press after the game and said;

Tough day today, we just didn't make enough runs, simple as that people made starts but just didn't kick on and that's the way cricket is unfortunately, I feel mainly at fault for us not getting enough, getting out like that as well 😥
Nightmare. But the boys stuck at it and I couldn't of asked for more of them today, apart from som more runs maybe 😂, was great to see Tony back playing as well, really put a big smile on a lot of the lads faces. He truly is a legemd.

Brundish was then asked does he think he's captaincy might be on the brink after the defeat?

Which for the second straight week walked off and never answered the question. Two weeks in a row? Clearly the skipper is not happy.
