Match report
PERFECT EXECUTION
Judge brings down the hammer of justice and Ashenden shines on Debut.
Crows bounced back to winning ways with an impressive win against Twyford.
Brundish, DC and Hayleigh made it back after coming back from Old Trafford that morning still high on world cup fever.
Twyford put Crows in to bat and a little shake up to the order meant J Sussex was given the nod to lead the attack with Judge. Looking conservative before Suss tickled one through and walked before the Umpire could confirm.
Another unfortunate duck for G.Tims meant DC was in to try and steady the ship and did so with an impressive 48 partnership before the DC got a Jaffa and was cleaned up for a quick 25. C.Emes after his 50 a few weeks prior was struggling with the bat and got an extremely iffy looking LBW even from side on, which his team mate J Suss was quick to raise the finger.
B.williams followed not long after the the skipper entered the arena, looking solid and playing well then drinks arrived. You know what they say about after drinks. And we'll. That just happend.
Brundish went to steer one round the corner and top edged it straight back to the bowler 94/6 surely not again.
The return of K dog on K dog weekend boosted morale as he and Jules began the resistance and with the judge accelerating things were looking up.
K dog was then bowled and with only the tail left judge took matters into his own hands. Closing in on a 100 judge fell just short after being caught for a herculean 93 to get the visitors out of trouble. Crows finished on 182 all out.
K dog and Bad man Emes lead the attack and Chris struck early picking up a scalp in his first over. K dog couldn't unfortunately make it to the party and struggled to get his length right.
L Bo and Jonny Ashenden AKA "The Young Ones" replaced the older youth and both were hugely impressive L Bo already a Sunday veteran at his young age kept it tight as they hunted in pairs as LBo piled on the pressure and Ashenden struck form the other end. Picking up 2-23 from 7 overs. A bright future for Jonathan is definitely on the cards.
As drinks rolled round over hearing a conversation between the Twyford team one lad said "I'm down at 5 but that doesn't matter. I'm going to win us the game anyway"
When he strode out The Captain knew what to do.
Judge, Next over that end.
First ball, big swipe, straight to mid on J Suss gobbles it, see ya pal.👍 Not quite sure how he's win it from there 😕.
With the game now strangled and Crows in the driving seat. Ben Williams took centre stage and you guessed it, begged another wicket continuing his run by taking a wicket in every game he's played this year.
James Scott bowled late on and continued to improve with also another quality fielding display.
Crows then strangled Twyford and the games ended when LBo returned to the attack and bagged two wickets in one over to seal the win.
Brundish spoke to the press after the game.
"Great to bag a win after last week, everyone played there part and we got over the line, Jules was brilliant with the bat today soaked up the pressure well and thrived on it. J Scott again brilliant in the field too."
When asked about J.Ashenden he said "great performance from the young lad considering he played early this morning as well, he has a bright future and I'm looking forward to him playing again for us"
