Match report Crows lost the toss at their new village cricket home and strode out to bat.

Numbers 1 and 3 and 4 departed quickly , but JC stayed around for a well constructed 19. Shreyas showed his ability with 3 quick 4s . Ven dished out some punishment in a rapid 24 . Left to Venki to marshall the tail and progress to a great 46. Crows left 143 all out in the 41st over.

After a very credible 1st ever tea from Joe Birkett (rumours of a HoAC punishment for LBWs or something) JC and Shreyas opened the bowling, both going for very little and JC picking up some early wickets. Nice to see controlled leg spin from Shreyas. New ball was taken, Ven and Luke Taylor leading the charge with the fresh cherry. Ven bowled well, but having been warned for one beamer decided to bowl a comedy second one, that landed somewhere near Henley, and was forced out of the attack. Luke bowled superbly, tight lines with a lovely bend on the ball, deservedly taking 2 for 10 off his 6 overs. After some buffet offerings from Ajay , JC brought himself back on to take the key wicket and win us the game. JC finished with 7.3-5-16-4 to cap a superb skipper's display.

Special mention for George Tims, who despite some wayward bowling (21 wides) kept brilliantly and only conceded 5 byes .
