Match report On a sunny Sunday morning the U13 crows took on a Sonning U13s team in the first match of the 2017 season.

New signing Shreyas Nanda was handed the captaincy for his Crows debut.

A great opening partnership set Sonning on their way to 121, despite some great bowling by Ashmit Pande and Peter Emes.

The Crows also set off well with the bat. Shreyas was incredibly unlucky to be caught and bowled by Tom D with one of the best diving catches I have ever seen by an U13!

Ashmit 'The destroyer' Pande came in with a fantastic attacking innings. He struck three boundaries in just two overs. In his last over, the ball was struck so far it took a while to find it. Ashmit was then dismissed two balls later, probably due to having his rhythm disrupted by the ball search.

Peter Emes stayed in to bat and reached his 30 very quickly with some fantastic shots. He received a round of applause when he had to retire.

Ultimately we did not score enough runs quickly enough with the bat, but it was a close and entertaining game to be involved in.

Peter Emes was awarded the 'Player of the Match' award for his fantastic innings. Top effort. It is Wokingham up next in the league for the U13s
