Historically Shinfield away games have always brought out the best in Crows ranks and this game was no different. The weather was suppose to be sunny and hot but conditions were overcast - perfect to bowl but the Crows skipper got the other side of the coin and were asked to bat first. With high profile players missing, we had 3 debutants - Nikunj, Rajesh and Marcus. Tom Nash had a new opening partner Barrymore whose batting woes carried on when he chipped one to mid-on without scoring. Tom carried on with his innings in usual way punishing bad balls but gave away a catch at point on a loose delivery. In came the Saviour - him and Nikunj put up a good partnership with Simon scoring 39 after being given out lbw. Dougie found his mojo hitting 28 with a straight 6 over the bowlers head. Crows finished with 160/9 - maybe 20 runs short of skipper's expectations.

Post tea, Shinfield were away with a flier scoring freely in 4s and 6s. It took some smart bowling from Finners to get H Mathur bowled. This was followed by a major collapse from Shinfield with Finners and Charman taking the scalp with some fine bowling. But their captain Shaskank Garg had different plans. He batted sensibly by chipping in singles and punishing bad balls for 4s supported by A Prowse at other end. Special mention of Rajesh's spell which was with good pace and swing regularly asking questions. The game was reaching to a close finish and there was a tense environment amongst both teams. But Crinners brought the confidence back in Crows by bowling a beauty to get Prowse and then the ball to get no 11 out leaving Shashank on 44 no. Crows win by 4 runs.
