Match report On a sultry afternoon at St Sebs the 3rds played their last match of the season against the Division leaders Peppard & Stoke Row.

Having lost the toss , Crows openers strode out to bat. What followed was an awesome 140 run opening stand between James Whitehurst (90) and Tom Nash (71). 55 was then added for the 2nd wicket, to leave Crows 195 for 2 after 30 overs.

The rest the batting order contributed 39 in the remaining 15 overs to leave Crows 234 for 7 at the end of 45 overs.

After a monumental tea, Crows took to the field to try and get 10 wickets.

The spin twins of Baines and Storey were given the ball to start the innings. Both bowled well but conceded one over of cannon fodder which left PSR 40 odd without loss after 12 overs.

LL Cool J and Monty were then brought into the attack , taking the new ball in the process. While Monty toiled at the pavilion end withotu success , LL started the wicket taking removing 3 of the top 4 batsman in a great 8 over spell.

Asquith was proving hard to get out and was regularly hitting boundaries.

JC brought himself on and as normal, took two wickets.

Bainsey was brought back from the opposite end to his opening spell. Change of ends brought a vast change in fortunes. He removed the remaining 5 wickets for 16 in 4.4 overs,including Asquith who fell for a well made 73.

An excellent fielding performance where 8 catches were taken and numerous runs saved meant that PSR were bowled out for 157 , in the 41st over.

A fantastic win to finish off a great season for the 3rds
