Match report Final game annihilation proves too hard to bear for skipper as Sunday Crows lose again.

The Pirbright pitch went from absolute minefield in the first innings, to absolute road in the second, as the crows slumped to their 6th defeat in a row to finish the season in shame.

The crows were put into bat, and only Allwright (43) put up any resistance as a string of top order batsmen got out, with the ball and the pitch doing all sorts.

When Pirbright batted, the ball did nothing at all and the pitch suddenly looked as flat as a pancake. The home team smashed their way to the total off only 16 overs, with only a brief shoot out for the bowler of the year honours between Baines and Cartledge, and a single over from the mercurial and lesser spotted Partridge lifting the mood, before they were trudging off for an early bath, after a crushing loss.

A clearly distraught Mackenzie stood before the gathered reporters after the game, and read from a prepared statement, in which he apologised to the fans for the terrible run of results, and tendered his immediate resignation, which was later accepted by the board. It was a sad way to end things, but he had to go.
