Match report Crows collapse and capitulate despite Crooks courageous knock

The Sunday Crows, with an age range this week of 13-72, let a fantastic position slip at Englefield Green, as the opposition went from 80 for 7 off 17 overs to 241 for 8 off their 40 despite good bowling as their lower order made hay in the sun.

After a titanic BBQ tea the crows took to the crease, hopeful of some runs, but when the top four went for 42 after 8 overs, They were always up against it. Some swashbuckling shot making from Crook aside, they never really made a fist of it, and despite some spirited lower order batting,they were left to rue their missed chances in the field.

Speaking to the press after the game a philosophical skipper said, " We had them where we wanted them at 7 down, and I take full responsibility for letting that position slip, I thought we had done enough. Its a shame, because the result overshadow good debuts from Emes and Butler, as well as Crook's heroics, but we take the positives, learn from the negatives and move on to the next game."
