Match report CLINICAL CROWS CRUSH SORRY SHINFIELD IN SUN-SOAKED SATURDAY SUCCESS!
Crows 2's breathed life into their relegation fight with a comprehensive display and result against promotion chasing Shinfield at Wellington College.
From the very first over, it was obvious that Crows meant business with a hard-nosed competitive edge and enthusiastic fielding, underpinning great new ball bowling from Captain Chandran and the impressive Crinnion.

Wickets fell at regular intervals as chance after chance was created by the bowling unit. First-change seamers Finucane and O'Loughlin carried on where the skipper and young Crinnion had left off, with no easy runs on offer building pressure and forcing risks to be taken with poor shots and even poorer running.

With 7 down it was left to seasoned campaigners Partridge and Long to come and clean up the tail. Shinfield had been bundled out for a meagre score of 78 and the Crows were in the driving seat.

After a hearty tea, openers Stent and Whitehurst strode purposefully out to the middle. Runs flowed from the off and Shinfield's total never looked like being enough. Stent fell for 15 and then Whitehurst perished for a trademark 27, leaving the in-form Puttige and Cartledge to see the home team to victory in a mere 12.1 overs.

A vital victory which has left the Crows destiny in their own hands going into the final week of the season
