Match report Crows snatch victory in 560 run thriller at New Ground

On a hard batting track with super fast outfield, 9 man Ruislip won the toss and elected to field.

Crows got off to a good start , AWR and Tony McDowell putting on 69 for the first wicket, before the fireworks really started. Suraj Puttige and Nick Outram crashing 92 in 11 overs , before Suraj hoicked around a straight one for 53.

Nick continued to plunder runs , ably supported By Foxy and Raj (both 19) , before getting caught on 114 , leaving crows 280 for 6. Skipper pondering a declaration for the second time in the season. His hand forced by two comedy run outs, crows declaring on 286 for 9.

After tea, Ruislip's 9 men strode out in search of victory, confirming they had a team of batsman.

Good opening spells from Kieran Golding and Marshall Miller left Ruislip behind the rate. But then two hundred partnerships (108 by Panchoo/bailey and 112 by Booth/Mitchell) left Ruislip within winning distance, Booth 100 not out at the crease.

Up steps JC inhis new role of death bowler. Booth takes a single exposing the new batsman to the wiles of JC's bowling. Bang, stumping and gone. 10 runs needed , 1 wicket left. Massive appeal for a catch behind... denied, then Ruislip last man struck firmly on the pads , big appeal,given . Cue pandemonium from the crows players.

We have only gone and won it. Top effort by all of the team.
