Match report CCWCC 2nd's captain won the toss 3 weeks in a row and decided to field first. Hawley started batting well with some weird looking shots from one of their openers. Sin and Dan F started off well with the ball. Dan C then followed with some excellent bowling that was literally unplayable by the Hawley batsmen. Nirav and Bainsey then bowled well taking most of the wickets between them. Nirav was the pick of the bowlers claiming 4 wickets. Once again catches were dropped at crucial moments of Hawley's batting which helped them post a decent total of 180/9. In reply, CCWCC's openers started well scoring some decent boundaries. Tom as always stuck at one end playing some glorious defensive strokes and running some quick singles. James batted well scoring quickly with some big shots to the boundary. Dan F then came to the crease who seemed to have sat with his helmet on from the first ball of our innings saying when he goes to bat he was going to stick till the last over . When he finally got a chance to go and bat, he did look very determined to see us home. He scored a quick 45 runs along with Dan C. Dan C played some superb shots and almost got us back into the game but it was a bit too late to win from the last few overs, as Hawley got their best bowlers to attack with some decent bowling. Dan C and the skipper then had to play some 3 overs to gain a draw which they did. 2nd XI Captain's search for the first win and CCWCC's search for a home team umpire continues......
