Match report The weather was superb and at last the boys finally got a chance to play. However things could not have got off to a worse start for skipper Liam Jocelyn. just as he was getting in the car to leave for the ground he found his pet cat dead by the roadside as a result of being run over. he was devastated, but somehow plucked up the courage to play even though he was far from his normal self.

Epsom won the toss and put the understrength Crow Juniors, fielding 2 under 11 players, into bat. Despite a solid but slow start, it was obvious that Epsoms tight but not spectacular bowling was a bit too much for our inexperienced boys as we collapsed for 55 all out in 19.4 overs, or was it 21.4 overs. That we will never know.

Full credit to Matt Wilson for hanging around for 17 runs, one of only two players to make double figures. 9 out of the 10 wickets were clean bowled, so a bit more work on playing with a straight bat will be required in the nets. Epsoms L Vallence finished up with figure of 6 wickets for 1 run, off 3.4 overs, pretty impressive.

So with 56 to chase Epsom wasted no time and reached their target after 9.2 overs with the loss of 1 wicket picked up by Matt Thomas. In fairness both Liam and Sunny bowled a little too short and got picked off.

It was all good experience and they will play again on Tuesday with an almost full strength team, and hopefully learn from their mistakes
