Match report SUPER C'S SLUMP TO T20 DEFEAT

Crows Midweek T20 side suffered their 2nd straight loss and puts skipper Joe Davies under pressure from the board of selectors.

Batting first, Crows Openers got off to a solid start before Dan Boulton fell for 11. Dan Partridge took the attack to UCB to pass the mandatory retirement score of 25.

Some hefty blows from Prince Harry, Leach and hapless skipper Davies powered Crows to what looked like a competitive score of 135 from 20 sun-soaked overs with veteran Aran Long and T20 Specialist Mr Foxy Bingo marshalling the final overs.

UCB came out all guns blazing but the metronomical Long and the pumped up Clarke put the brakes on from the start. Crows made the breakthrough in the 3rd over when a Long-hop from Long was spanked into the giant bucket hands of Leach at short extra cover.

UCB settled into their run chase and a flurry of boundaries and retirements saw them ease above the run rate.

Unbeknownst to UCB, Crows had saved Gun Bowlers Davies, Foxon and the near-crippled Partridge for the death, so despite wickets in hand, reitrees in the hutch and not many runs to get the result was for from over.

Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Davies sniffed blood and send down one of the greatest T20 overs EVER bowled. A Partridge-esque triple Wicket maiden to drag the Crows back in to it. Batsman after batsman(and woman) came and went looking baffled by the display of legspin offered by Davies.

Partridge cleaned up the dangerous Haroof with his first ball and all of a sudden UCB were panicking.

Alas this mini comeback was to be in vain as UCB stuttered to their total with 1 over to spare.

A decent game soured only by the infestation of Mosquitos, Tetsi Flies, Midges, call thme what you will leaving several players with more bites than runs.

Skipper Davies was a broken man after the game. "Awwww look, that was a tough game to lose. Look, we should have got more runs, awww look we are disappointed, awww look etc etc"
