Match report The first outing of Crowthorne & Crown Wood's 2nd XI ended in the rain after just 13 overs.

Skipper Luke 'Beavis' Jouanides, fresh from introducing himself to his own team, introduced himself to the opposition captain and won the toss on his first attempt; choosing to put the home side in was the obvious choice on a sticky and pretty rough looking track.

Opening bowlers Sin and Monty looked to make the most of the conditions, and both swingmeisters created chances before Curran was caught slapping one hard to the skipper at cover off Monty's bowling. Captain Luke looked every part the leader by calmly plucking the tracer bullet cleanly from the damp air above his head, before walking towards the bowler to shake his hand in the manner of a young gentleman officer fresh out of Sandhurst academy.

Dan Crinnion was brought on to replace the miserly Sin and immediately posed questions for the batmen with pace and seam movement. After a couple of LBW shouts and a dropped chance of caught and bowled, the young paceman found the edge of Warfield's top batsman Wilson and the fizzing ball found itself in the right hand of first slip Sheppard.

13 overs in, Warfield were 2 wickets down for just 29 runs but the rains came and refused to relent before the pitch was sodden, forcing the abandonment of the days play.
