Match report PARTRIDGE, DAVIES AND NORTHALL SINK SHINFIELD

Crowthorne powered to their 3rd straight win with a 63 run win over Shinfield. Joe Davies and Pete Northall did the damage with the bat and Dan Partridge was the match-winner with the ball as Davies compiled a well-earned 51 and Northall signalled a return to form with a typically powerful 41. Crows posted a reasonable total of 171 all out and Shinfield must have thought they had a great chance of winning. However a really tight bowling and fielding display form Crowthorne limited Shinfield to 85 all out complete the comprehensive victory.

Dan Partridge was a constant thorn in the Shinfield side with 2 wickets in an opening spell with the old ball, before returning later with 3 further wickets to seal a five wicket haul and wrap up victory. He finished with 5-17 and Crows wrapped up victory with over 20 overs to spare. Jeff Cluett and Mike Chalmers chipped in with 2 wickets apiece and the Shinfield lower order crumbled under pressure from the Crows bowling attack.

Crowthorne skipper Mark Knight refused to get carried away afterwards: “This is a great win against a dangerous Shinfield side. Our batting was a little below par today but we compensated for that with a great bowling and fielding display which was very impressive. We are very pleased with the start to the season that we have made but realise there’s a long way to go in this campaign”
