Match report Bit of a last minute match against Cove CC. Was an unknown quantity, but they were from the Thames Valley League and appeared very good!

Crows won the toss and chose to bat. Against a decent attack runs were hard to come by. Aniket had a decent knock of 26, Joe Davies got 20 but the star batsman was the skipper, Jeff Cluett who got 62. Kevin Cluett did well on his debut with 11 not out.

Cove came out to bat, and one of their batsman was holding a mongoose bat. It meant one of two things...he was either a poser or quite a good batsman. It turned out to be the latter. The same was true of most of Coves line up. Carter ended up with 71 not out. After the match he confessed that he actually played for Wimbledon CC, who were in the national club T20s final the other day. Very disappointing that they felt the need to play a serious club player against a village side, but such is life. Ant Cluett bowled well, with figures of 3-29 with the help of a good stumping from Aniket and a good catch in the deep from Shilts.

All in all a bit of a forgettable afternoon. A reasonable tea, which was terribly overpriced and a team that weren't the most welcoming or gracious of hosts. The only saving grace was a pavillion with a balcony, which was a bit of a novelty.
