Match report CROWS TROUNCE ENGLEFIELD BY 70 RUNS, AMID MORE CHILDISH ANTICS FROM MISTER ANGRY!

On a glorius sunny day down at Derby Ground, Crows won the toss and elected to bat. The team stood around and eagerly awaited the arrival of M Angry, who was fashionably late. His face already red with rage, after probably being stood around at New Ground for 20 minutes. There were then some great contributions from the

The Barron went on an early run scoring spree, but lost his partner and captain to a furious yorker from M Angry. There were then some great contributions from the middle order. Barron departed for a good 38, but Phil Brown on his Crows return weighed in with an excellent 34. His face was as red as Mr Angry's after some frantic running. He cooled himself after drinks though, by going and getting a stylish ladies hat. Wasaq Riaz made 26 on his debut with some cracking shots, and then the Frenzy went for 15. Aran Long got 12, which is roughly the number of times he visits Ikea in any given year! Don Joseph weighed in with a useful 20, and John Elsey was unluckily run out without facing a ball. The total was 174, which seemed defendable on a decent looking pitch.

Aran 'Ikea' Long went about opening the bowling in cracking style, despite some Sweden related heckling from his team mates. He was backed up well at the other end by DJ, who bowled superbly but without the reward of a wicket. M Angry hung around like a bad smell, and chuntered away to himself as he struggled to get the bowling away. Azza got the breakthrough with a deserved wicket. Rich Barron then got a wicket with a superb catch from the Frenzy. Englefield were struggling along, at a rate well below what was required. Tim and Tony then set about some tight bowling that built the pressure. Then a critical moment, Tony bowled to Angry who huffed down the wicket and missed it. Shilts whipped the bails off, and a big appeal was made. The square leg umpire was too busy staring at Phil's Mrs on the boundary, so gave it not out. John, buoyed by a couple of tins of Heineken, then started chirping to Angry about how he was already out. The hornets nest was stirred, and Angry's face turned a deeper shade of crimson as he felt the need to point out the exact spot in the crease where he was stood. Stomping up and down on it, and harping on how he was "not out". In the next over Angry was so furious he just tried to hit out. He caught a massive edge and Phil took a superb one handed diving catch at slip. Cue jubilant scenes as Angry trudged off. Thankfully the pavillion at Derby is a bit ramshackle, so he couldn't really do much more damage to it. Tony and Tim then went about sweeping the Englefield middle order aside, with some superb bowling. They just kept putting it on the spot, and the batsmen fell like dominoes. Tim ended up with 3-28 and is now the joint top wicket taker with Monty, and Tony ended up with a fantastic 5-12 off only 4.4 overs.

The Crows wrapped up a superb 70 run win, which was well deserved with some solid batting and a superb fielding performance. The bowling stats are top notch at the moment.

Man of the match is a difficult call this week, as it was a superb team performance. Notable contributions from Phil Brown with a great knock and 2 excellent catches. Also to John Elsey for a legendary piece of sledging against Mr Angry. But with bowling figures of 5-12, man of the match is Tony McDowell. Hopefully we will see more of it in weeks to come.

The end of the match was marred by childish scenes from Mr Angry, as he refused to shake anyones hand under the guise of being too engrossed in doing the scorebook. Which I subsequently found to be graffitied 'M Angry woz ere'.

We are away at Englefield in September, and I want some ideas on the forum on how to wind Angry up again!
