Crowthorne's cricketers were left dazed this weekend by a cricket match actually going ahead. Having received messages to turn up at 12.30 and 'wear something white', 11 of Crowthorne's gentlemen turned up as appointed to be greeted by a freshly mowed field and a yellow globe in the sky. Confusion followed before the players were informed they were to take part in a 'cricket match'. The occasion proved too much for one resident, Mr R. Barron of Eagle House, who was last seen stumbling towards Edgbarrow mumbling 'where am I and what am I doing?'.
