Crows Look Forward To The New Season
Crowthorne Cricket Club’s preparations for the new season are well underway as the club look to gain promotion from Division 2 of the Berkshire league after narrowly missing out last year by finishing third. The club will again benefit this season after agreeing an extension to their sponsorship deal with local network solutions provider, Installation Technology. “A lot of the good things that happened at the club last season are largely thanks to the support we received from our sponsor Installation Technology,” States club PR Manager, Aran Long, “We were able to massively improve the clubs infrastructure and can now boast training facilities that are the envy of much bigger clubs” he continues.
On the field, a massive off season recruitment drive has lead to no fewer than ten new players joining the clubs ranks, and as Club captain Peter Northall explains, there is quality as well as quantity, “I can honestly say that in terms of quality, that this is the strongest crop of new recruits we have taken on board during my time with the club, with the depth we now have in all departments I can really see us having another good season” states an eager Peter.
Amongst the crop of new players are Batsmen, Rich Gent, Mark Knight and Tim Leach, Bowlers Rich Henton and Sam Roffey, and all rounders Kevin Glazier, Simon Gow and Julian O’Loughlin.
The club kick off their league campaign away to Waltham St Lawrence on the 7th May.
