Match report Crows lose as spirit of cricket beaten into a bloody pulp by the opposition

Losing the toss Crows were put into bat. Slow progress left us 33 for 3 after 17 overs. Then the Ven and Venki show pulled the score up to 78, before Ven perished LBW for 31 . That was about the 5000 LBW appeal, mostly from square leg and mid on we had had, most not outs met with verbals to the umpire. back on the pitch, George Tims strode out at no 6 and proceed to bash the ball all round the park on the way to a maiden 50 in adult cricket. (7 4s & 1 6) he shared in partnerships of 64 with Venki for the 5th wicket. Crows ended 168 for 8 off their 45 overs.

Into the field to defend what was thought a par score , Avi took two in two balls early on to give the team hope. Missed out on a hat-trick though. Then Venki dropped the big hitting opener of Dave's bowling, which would prove very costly, as he then proceeded to demolish Dave's bowling and vanquish Ven from the attack after only two overs. Crows thought we had him when he clearly edged to Soumya off JC , Soumya then stumped him too for good measure. Neither out decision given by the umpires.

Soumya then departed to hospital with Jiknesh to get a dislocated finger reset. Leaving crows with 9 in the field

The hitter finally fell to a nonchalant ankle high catch by Mirza at cow corner for 92 off JC's bowlng. JC picked up the 4th wicket in the same over . But the damage had been done , in very quick fashion, and West Reading went to victory with a 6.
