Match report Another close game which saw the u9s lose by 6 runs in a final over thriller. CCWCC batted first and scored 268 with a fine display from Adam Mansfield with a 22 n.o containing 3 successive 4s, and a few decent cameos from others in the batting line up. Shinfield made steady progress and lost fewer wickets along the way which set the platform for their captain (and stand out player) to steer them to a final over win despite an excellent "death over" bowled by Sennen. Given that a wide gives away 2 runs, we could say that the game was effectively lost on the basis of 3 wides over the course of the innings. So a bit more practice on straighter bowling will be the focus for the next few practice sessions.
