Crowthorne & Crown Wood Cricket Club Midweek XI v UCB on Thu 24 Jul 2014 at 6 pm
Crowthorne & Crown Wood Cricket Club Won by 44 runs

Match report T-twenty triumph! Gordon proves he's no Flash in the pan.
Hawkes swoops, and flies off with runs, wickets and the man of the match award, as Mackenzie skippers Crows to their first 20/20 win of the season.

The Frenzy started well, winning the toss and electing to bat in the long awaited rematch with the mad scientists from his work.
The previous game ended in ignominious defeat, and Mackenzie was keen to even the score at a balmy St Sebastians.
A string of batsmen went out to bat on a great track, and one after the other retired to the pavilion with 25 runs. Except dave who was out for 1.
It fell to Mackenzie himself to see the team home, with 21 not out off 18 balls. Crows finished off on 194 for 3.
Hawkes top scored with 27 not out from 21 balls, and deposed 20/20 skipper Davies, free from the oppressive pressure of captaincy rediscovered his form with an incredible 25 off just 11 deliveries.
Allwright and Tim Leach, in his first game back from a debilitating injury, retired quickly off 13 and 15 balls respectively, while The Colonel anchored things the other end scoring his 25 off a boycottesque 25 balls.

The Crows took to the field in high spirits, but these were soon dampened as the Ucb openers took a liking to the bowling of Long and Davies. Allwright steadied the ship and took the first wicket, while Partridge tied up the other end. Evenfewer runs came from the impressive bowling of Leach and Storey, and the pressure was on the batsmen to hit some boundaries. Shaw and Mackenzie came on next, and a change behind the stumps (Hester for Joe) brought the breakthrough, with each bowler getting a stumping thanks to the sharp glove work of Davies.
Hawkes and Cluett Came on at the death and took 5 wickets between them in a flurry, which along with a runout from the skipper killed off any chance of a UCB win. This included a hat-trick ball with all 10 fielders around the bat for each bowler.

Speaking to journalists after the game, Mackenzie was keen to heap praise on his team mates,
'Its nice to play ok, I'm glad I got runs and bowled well, but this victory was all about the team. Everyone contributed, and young Hawkes especially was outstanding. It was a great knock for Davies as well, one of the all time great 20-20 innings' and it's good to see him return to form.'
