Match report Crows Sunday team defeated in Cranbourne Thriller

Lost the toss, they elected to bat first.

A second loss for the sunday team, but another great batting performance from the team. It was tough in the field for a long period, and we were set a high total to chase. But that did not demoralise us, and for the second match this season we were not bowled out again. So, so far, we as a team have batted 80 overs, which is very impressive.

Fielding first, we started brilliantly, with Saviour taking the ball and bowling the guy out first ball. Excellent. But then in came their best batsman. We almost had him in the first over but the ball landed short of our fielder, and from then on he looked comfortable in his century innings. Down the other end though, the number 2 batsman did not look at ease, and hit wasn't long till we had him out too, Tim bowling him in the fourth over. Then came a long 20 overs with no break through, which was very tough.

The 3 and 4 batsmen saw off the tight first 16 overs of bowling from Simon and Tim, then started to attack. From here till the last over there was only 1 wicket taken, caught by Dan off Mark's bowling.


Then came The Frenzy!! Stepping up for the last over of the match, he bowled the best over of the match. With his amazing figures of 1 over, 2 wickets for 1 run. A great end to the bowling, leading to chants of why didn't you bring him on earlier.

Set a very high total of 245, the team's heads did not go down, and we performed very well. Individual mentions have to go to Mark "Cocktail" Knight for his brilliant performance, hitting his first 50 for the club, big congrats Mark, and well done. Good knocks from Junior, Saviour, Tim and Dave really helped settle the team, and led us to seeing out the 40 overs.

Losing by only 25 runs in the end with 3 wickets in hand, thats another great performance.
