Match report On an interesting wicket Crows set out to field, trying to restrict Earley as much as possible, not fancying chasing more than 100.

Ollie Taylor opened up and despite some early wides , bowled 2 maidens in his 5 overs. JC Junior from the other end bowled accurately and fiercely picking up 1 for 6 off 4 before back pain forced him out of the attack. Mike Storey then bowled well until his 2nd grenade of the day ruled him out of the attack. Ollie nearly taking a great catch at backward square leg, but unable to grasp the hard hit ball.

AWR volunteered to complete the Storey over and was strangely kept on for another 9 overs ,finishing with 5 for 30 . George Tims taking a smart stumping for one of the wickets.
Mirza bowled well from the other end finishing with 6-19-2. JC then brought himself on and took the last wicket.

Early finished 155 all out, far more than we wanted to give them , extras and some average fielding gifting the opposition at least 40 runs.

After the tea, JC and Kishore strode out under darkening skies to start the chase. Jc fell early to a popping delivery . Kishore and Soumya then added some good runs, scoring boundaries regularly to keep the run rate up. Ajay then took centre stage, cracking 18 off one over, including a textbook straight drive for 6 , running himself out for 39. Mirza went cheaply. George Tims and Ven then batted through the ever strengthening rain and near darkness adding 32 valuable runs. Earley seemed determined to play on, until Ven missed a bouncer and wore the ball on his head. Ouch! Captains decided to call it a day. But as 20 overs of the 2nd innings had been completed , the game result stood. Crows winning on a better run rate. Though with 28 needed of 11 overs, we should have won anyway, had the game continued
