Match report Mortimer west end stunned by sensational Storey's sumptuous spin show, while classy cartledge creams a colossal century.

Mikey Storey returned for his first sunday game of the season to rescue the crows with a spin masterclass, after Mackenzie lost the toss and Mortimer west end were 145 for 0 after the first 20 overs, despite Cartledge and Brundish beating the bat multiple times, and Chris emes bowling a brilliant spell (0 for 19 off 6) on the flat dry batsmans paradise at MWE.
The wily old Mackenzie then made an inspired bowling change, bringing on Baines (2 for 35 off 6) and Storey (4 for 21 off 8), who wrote himself a new chapter in the history books, in an incredible spell where 6 wickets fell in 10 overs, and the runs completely dried up. MWE finished on 218 for 6, which looked under par on an absolute road of a track.

Allwright scored his second 81 in his second sunday game, and it was left to Cartledge to be the glue that held the innings together smashing a superb 101 not out with a brilliant 6, when it looked for a moment like he may be left stranded in the 90s.

Mackenzie, magnanimous as always, dismissed the praise showered on him by the waiting press after the game, "Yes it was my bowling change that changed the game, but that win was all down to the two spinners, especially Storey who was incredible, and some brilliant batting from Allwright and Cartledge. Id much rather you wrote about them, as I was only doing my job."
