Match report After more frustration cancellations the U14's finallt took to the field again, on a glorious sunny evening to play local rivals Ascot. We were at full strength and had to leave some players out, much to there dissapointment.

we lost the toss and were put into bat. We started steadily but positively putting on 17 before Sunny edged behind in the 4th over with the score at 17. Matt Wilson was in good form scoring 23 after losing partners Chris Emes and Adam Hawkes cheaply. Skipper Liam Jocelyn came to the wicket in the 11th over with the score at 39 for 4, and stayed to the end scoring 27no with good support from Connor Barrett on 12 no.

we finished on 88-5 off the 20 overs, our best score of the season. Now how would we bowl.

Ascot started quickly thanks to some byes of Liams bowling, and soon reached 24 before Chris Emes took a fine catch off Liams bowling. Tom Crocker struck soon after to leave them 29-2 off 4. Billy Coles took two in one over, both clean bowled and at one time had figures of 2 overs 2 maidens 2 for 0. He finished with 3 for 14 off his 3, a great effort that left Ascot 49 for 5 at the halfway point.

The visitors started to get things together and reached 65 for 5, only 24 runs short of their target. Liam brought himself back on and struck with his first ball dismissing Kniese LBW. A run out in the next over from Tom Crocker left Ascot at 75 -7 with 4 to go. Only 14 needed, and Tom Crocker trapped the opener LBW to leave it 77 for 8 with 3 to go and only 12 runs needed. It wend into the penultimate over when the visitors tried a quick single to the arm of Leon Carter and were left high and dry 7 runs short of the victory target. Luckily they only had ten men.

The celebrations were wild, shirts came off and were waved above there head as the boys celebrated a well deserved if not tense victory.

Well done lads, pleased to see us get a win and dig in and play well.
