Match report Crows defeat BBC Caversham by 3 wickets on a poor pitch.

BBC Caversham won the toss in a timed game and decided to bat. They clearly thought that they were playing for a draw from the start, as they'd only scored 9 runs after 10 overs. The Crows were bowling very tightly from all bowlers, but there was little to shout about with some very negative cricket from the hosts. The breakthrough came from Fluffer, making his only appearance of the season. He threw a beamer which was edged up high, and Tim Garrett took a good catch down at fine leg. There was muted celebrations as the Crows waited for a no ball to be called, but to be honest I think even his team mates had had enough of his neagtive cricket. There were further wickets for Seano, edging a good catch to Aniket at second slip. Leachy and Jeff were amongst the wickets, but the start bowler was Dan Partridge. Rattling through their lower order, who looked to have no idea how to play it. He ended up with figures of 5-11, quite an effort.

Following an early tea, which was perfectly adequate, but not spectacular, the Crows went out to bat. Jules and Aniket started well, both contributing before being out. Seano got some runs, thanks to some terrible fielding. But when he lost his wicket the Crows were still 34 short of the target and 3 wickets down. Fluffer and the skipper then put on a good partnership to steer the Crows to needing just 12 to win. There was then a bit of a wobble with 4 quick wickets being lost, but Joe and Jeff came on to knock of the last 12 runs without much trouble to give the Crows a 3 wicket victory.
