Crowthorne & Crown Wood Cricket Club Crowthorne Sunday XI v Englefield on Sun 07 Aug 2011 at 2:00
Match was Abandoned

Match report Mr Angry...

I thought he was in quite a jovial mood upon his arrival. Looked like he'd been on holiday as his skintone was more "Sun Blushed" than "Furious Anger-induced red"

I even saw him smile and joke with team mates on more than 1 occasion

However his mood was to take a turn for the worse - Just like the weather.

First rain stoppage, you could tell his stress levels were rising as he stomped off and stood on his own at the far end of the veranda, muttering to himself as his post-holiday glow started to morph into the look of a man with extremely high cholesterol and impending Cardiac Arrest.

But as the precipitate ceased briefly, his demeanour was raised once again as he eagerly re-took the field - this time with ball in hand as it was his turn to bowl. The tension grew as he ran into bowl...... As he slipped, apparently jarring his aging knee, the baying crowds in the pavillion braced themselves for an explosion. The Crows lightened the mood by sending The Frenzy out to deliver a paltry bag of sawdust to aid his run-up

Angrily Snatching the bag, then angrily tipping the entire stock of sawdust onto his run-up. It is this "I'm alright, Jack" mentality that surely grates at his teammates and fuels the perpetual tension in their ranks.

With the ground underfoot suitably enhanced by the sawdust, Angry resumed his over. The youthful innocence of Will Avrili, oblivious of the consequences, gracefully clipped Mr Angry into the woods for 6 and you could almost see the steam coming out of his ears.

A futher rain break and you could see his face had turned to more like "redcurrant Glory" than "raspberry Diva" on the Dulux colour chart. and the half-smile that had adourned his face earlier, was now but a distant memory.

As the game was semi-abandoned, and realising he was expected to contribute in some way for the cost of the tea, he angrily made his way along the buffet to ensure he wans't out of pocket.

As the last rites of the match were read and players began to drift off, he packed up his troubles in his old kit bag. (Kit bag = some sort of vintage Cricket Coffin/Murderers suitcase)

He walked off towards his car knowing he'd only have few weeks to wait before The Crows Wind-up merchants would once again be in cohoots to try to induce some sort of apeplexy.
